I had some fun with my high school friends last Friday on my pre-birthday celebration. What’s more exciting was when we thought of celebrating it at my best friend’s house. DH keeps asking why we had that idea but I only told him it was just a passing thought at the start. Anyway my family was there and I’m glad they enjoyed it too especially my kids who had some fun with Jen’s niece and nephew. I can call that day as something very personal because I only invited few friends. I had some nice gifts too, nothing as elegant as personalized bday jewelry which I find so chic and pretty but I had a very special personalized pouch bag with my family picture on it. DH, my kids and I like the special unique character of the gift. Of course it was given by none other than my BFF Jen and I’m keeping it in my cabinet rather than using it because I want to preserve its uniqueness. I just love it!

Quality Trunk Liners
When you have a car it’s like having an additional member of your family which you have to protect and take care of like your own kid. You have to maintain it to perfect running condition and check all parts for any damage or if it need some repair. They say that if you don’t have enough money to allot for the car’s up keeping then you will not be able to have a car of your own. I can say that it has truth in it because you really have to look, check and maintain any vehicle or car you have for you to enjoy riding and using it. Just like our own car which we’re having a general check-up now because my brother didn’t use it for weeks before he offered it to us. We can’t use it now because there’s a problem with its injection pump. It will have to be calibrated to see some other defects too. Of course we will need some money for it to be up and running in few days.
Well that’s part of having a car and aside from the things that I’ve said having a car is a bliss also as there are more advantages than disadvantages and I’m thankful for it. We just really have to protect its components and parts to prevent too much spending for repair. Shopping for Shoes and Phone
We went shopping again yesterday for the kids’ shoes and we’re glad that the crowd weren’t there anymore because it’s a weekday. Our favorite department store has new stocks again for this week. Well anyway we bought from one shoe store only for the kids and I got a super discounted canvas shoes from bench. We’re finished in one hour and all the time left were spent in arcade and in canvassing cell phones. I was surprised at the low prices of brand new phones which has basic functions only. We’re looking for phone with MP3 and FM Radio because BIL will exchange his wifi phone to me for that kind of phone. That’s really kind of him. He told DH that he only wants the music features of mobile phones and nothing more. DH will buy our chosen replacement new phone next week when we shop for his things.
Excited to Board the Ship
My niece’s husband was set to work as seaman this month but it was rescheduled next month. He’s all set and ready but I told him that it’s just fine because he’ll be able to spend holidays with his family before setting off to a cruise just like Royal Caribbean cruises I always read across online. He was really apprehensive but excited because it’s his first time to work outside abroad. He never applied for it but when his client for Sportswear advised and coaxed him into applying he gave in. Well he’s lucky that he passed all exams for seaman, medical tests and finished interviews. He’s all set this coming January.
Giveaways and Promotional Bags
When I was still working in corporate office I used to think of nice giveaway because sometimes I was being asked of ideas. During my early years of employment I really cherish most of the company’s giveaways because they’re mostly promotional tote bag and I just love bags. Sometimes I used it for carrying my lunch and some snacks because I don’t put my food inside my bag. I always place my lunchbox inside my small tote bag. It’s more convenient and your office bag will not smell like your viand. Now I found some pretty recycled tote bags which are very affordable.
Joint Baptismal
My cousin gave birth last month just three weeks after her younger sister had delivered hers and the younger sibling was complaining that she had purposely planned same period of pregnancy. Of course that’s only part of their teasing but I laugh every time my younger cousin wails about it. Now I was thinking if it ever occurred in them to have joint baby shower invitations when they were still pregnant. It’s a good idea isn’t it? But they didn’t planned it so now the only possible thing is a joint baptismal, I just don’t know if they will like it so I’d better not talk about it. I know that they lived far from each other and it would be hard to arrange a double baby baptismal. I hope they’ll be able to read this.
Way to Good Health
When we eat outside in fast food chains or restaurant we see to it that the kids have clean hands even if they will use fork and spoon. It’s proven enough that hands are the common sources of germs that will cause sickness especially to little kids. Well until now that my two girls are bigger and teens they will certainly look for the wash room, wash their hands and look for hand dryers because they enjoy warming and drying their hands there. Sometimes they repeat hand washing and go back again at the dryer, funny but they just like it! Kids grow fast physically but their childish ways lags behind.
Got to Fix Them
Few months back my office computer chair broke down and I scheduled it for repair but due to numerous tasks I forgot about it. When I search for small laptop table I remembered that I have a computer chair in our stock room and I only need to replace one leg and some furniture casters to be able to move it easily. After the holidays I will try to remember to send for fixing all appliances that need minimal fixing only. I have no problem with electronic appliances now as DH is learning from time to time how to check and repair small electronic appliances.
More Convenient Travel
I’m glad that finally our car is now being repaired by a mechanic referred by my cousin. It’s a nice timing as our money from the cooperative I’ve joined last year has arrived today so we’ll have finance for the car repair. We really needed a car to use every Sunday service, our camp meetings and family day out. DH has been spending more time now with the car. As soon as he gets home from his class he’ll check the car for any possible maintenance needed. Lately we’re always stopping in the middle of the road and because of these alarming incidents we decided not to use the car until it’s running in good condition.
I was really saving for my kids’ tuition fees this coming summer but I’ll have to spend it on the car first because we can’t leave it like that. Anyway I was also searching for cheap car insurance for it since its insurance will expire few months from now. I’ve been looking online for another company that will give us better rates because the maintenance and repair has eaten up majority of our budget. Well I know after the repair we’ll again enjoy our pickup and we’ll be able to frequent MIL’s place more with a more convenient travel going there.
Shopping for My Kids
We went to the mall last weekend for the final shopping of my kids’ holiday clothes for school and for our camp meeting fellowship. It was crowded as expected but still it’s manageable because some people were just there for few pieces only and they aim for some other discounted sales in the booth. It’s not that easy to shop for 3 kids but I’m glad that DH helped me in choosing. Well actually my two big girls have their own preferences and I just have to agree or disagree with them. They listened to my suggestions and came up with items that we both love. For my little boy I chose for him and he approved right away. It’s always easier with the boys!
Anyway the worst part is waiting in line to pay our purchase. I have to amuse myself or wander my eyes around just to keep my patience to wait in line. I was just glad that the store’s pay counters has been updated with complete POS systems, fast cashiers and good service which makes waiting not so burdensome. All my efforts and tiredness were paid by smiling kids beside me who love our purchases so much. They thanked me that I allowed them to buy what they want except for the little boy who told me that anything I’ll buy for him he’ll wear. He just wanted some food after the shopping lol!
