With a new year comes new runway shows and fashion trends. What are the latest styles? We’re about to tell you.
Some popular clothing trends include bright color blocking, extravagant prints, pastels, and ruffles.
Let your inner child out! Remember when you were in Kindergarten and you wore every color of the rainbow when your mom let you dress yourself? Now you can do that and be fashionable. Using a color wheel, we’re going to show you the best ways to color block.
If you’re ready to jump right into this fashion, try using complementary colors, which are colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel, such as violet and yellow or blue and orange. Don’t limit yourself to just two colors, though. To use three colors, choose two complimentary colors, then choose a third color by making a T-shape. An example of this would be blue-green, red-orange, and either yellow or violet. To use four colors, simply make an X-shape on the color wheel. If you just want to get your feet wet, try wearing a bright colored shirt with jeans and accessories in a complimentary color, or a bold two toned shirt in complimentary colors. You can also try using analogous colors from the color wheel. To do this, simply choose three colors that are next to each other, such as red, red-orange, and orange.
Leopard print is a thing of the past. In 2012, look for highly detailed, intricate, and most importantly, bold prints. Bonus points if you incorporate color blocking into this trend.
When it comes to hair, long waves and curls are popular right now. If you have medium-length hair, try a chignon, french twist, or the ever popular and time-saving messy bun held together with bobby pins. For short hair, bobs and afros are all the rage right now.
